Tour Highlights
A moderate trek which starts from the Bhagirathi valley, goes up to the lake of Dodital (wrapped in perfect wilderness) to the alpine meadows and crosses over at Darwa Pass (4150 m) to the Yamuna watershed. Traditionally this trek has been continuously used by the Gujjars, the nomadic herdsmen who get their buffalos to the high meadows every summer and occasionally by pilgrims/sadhus walking between Gangotri and Yamunotri. We go right up to the Darwa Top and retrace our steps.

Itinerary
Day 01: Take the overnight Mussoorie Express from Old Delhi railway station to reach Haridwar early in the morning and board the waiting vehicles to drive to camp Kuflon Basics for lunch. Afternoon relax or go for a short walk to the nearby waterfall. Evening campfire and dinner.
Day 02: After an early morning breakfast start the trek from Sangam Chatti (1375 m). Moderate uphill walk takes one through the mixed Himalayan forests and past small garhwali dwellings. Camp at Morsuna (7 hrs).
Day 03: Proceed on the uphill walk towards Dodital. The vegetation changes to dense forests of Oak and rhododendron. Go past the summer homes of the Gujjars and the shepherds at Majhi and reach the emerald green lake at Dodital (3310 m). It’s a fresh water lake surrounded by thick forests. The rainbow trout in the lake just add to the beauty.
Day 04: Start early in the morning with packed breakfasts for Darwa Pass. The walk to Darwa top is 5 kms (2-3 hrs). It is a pass at a height of 4150m. The entire walk is an uphill climb. It starts with the climb along the feeder to Dodital breaking into a thick birch forest opening into the high meadows. A perfect setting for Himalayan wild flowers, Darwa top offers an amphi-theatre view of the Bandarpunch and Swargarohini range of peaks. Absorb the breathtaking views and start the downhill walk to reach the campsite for the hot lunch. One can also spend this day sipping tea, catching up with the local tales, walking around the lake sighting birds or just observing the clear waters of the lake with the trout making an occasional appearance.
Day 05: Carry on the downhill trek, which at times is very steep to reach Kuflon Basics (6-8 hrs). On reaching Kuflon cleanse yourself with a hot water bath or take a dip in the nearby natural water pool. Dinner followed by bonfire and mountain stories.
Day 06: Have an easy start, let your aching muscles rest. An early brunch and drive back (5 hrs) to Haridwar to board the evening Shatabdi to reach Delhi by 10:30 at night.
